Ceramic studio · Small batch

Round things, thrown square to the hand.

Mugs, cups and vessels made one at a time on the wheel. Cobalt, oat and charcoal glazes fired to cone 6 — built for every morning, not just the shelf.

Four steps, about three weeks, per mug.

  1. Step 1

    Throw

Each form is centered and pulled on the wheel from about a pound of stoneware.

  2. Step 2

    Trim

Leather-hard pieces are flipped, trimmed for a clean foot, and handles are attached.

  3. Step 3

    Bisque

A first firing to cone 04 turns clay into something that can hold glaze.

  4. Step 4

    Glaze & fire

Dipped by hand, then fired to cone 6 so every piece is food- and dishwasher-safe.

Pottery studio with a wheel and shelves of drying pots

The studio

One wheel, one kiln, and a shelf that's always full.

I'm Jane. I make functional pottery in short runs, so a glaze you love might not come back exactly the same. That's the point — every mug carries the marks of the day it was made.

Made slowly, by hand.

New pieces come out of the kiln roughly once a month. Sign in to keep your bag and hear when the next batch lands.
